About the Opportunity
We are looking for a driven and dynamic accounting leader to join and help grow our finance function.This is a highly visible role in the company, with ownership over the accounting and reporting functions. The individual will play a critical role in scaling our accounting operations to support business growth across new businesses and serve as a finance partner to management.
About the Deliverables
- Oversee full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of companies, including financial reporting, FP&A, and treasury
- Ensure the production of accurate and timely financial statements and reports. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and financial reporting, including including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial and project-level financials
- Put in place policies, processes, and technologies to help scale financial systems in-step with the growth of the company
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity and accuracy
- Manage the payroll process, including reconciling payroll records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining employee records
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Collaborate with project managers to track costs, assess variances, and provide insights into profitability, operational efficiency, and cost-saving opportunities
- Forecast and manage short-term cash flow requirements across the organization
- Provide technical accounting support for construction projects and corporate entities, including new corporate structure plans
- Mentorship of junior staff
- Provide support to the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Provide financial insights and guidance to the executive leadership team to drive informed decision-making
- Oversee audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring any issues are addressed promptly
About You
Our ideal candidate brings...
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA, or similar, designation
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in an accounting role, with at least 2 years in a controller or similar senior accounting position
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including ASPE and construction accounting
- Experience with Sage Intacct is highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and obsession with accuracy
- Strong verbal and communication skills capable of proficient interactions with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
